What a day

What a day. I have gone from thinking I could get my parents in assisted living to realizing because of money and options I am screwed, to accepting that they may have to live here as long as possible.

Apparently my mother's dementia (short term memory loss) will ensure that she will not be accepted into an assisted living facility. Possibly but probably not. So she needs a different level of care than my father. My father can live independently but after living with my mother for 60 years and probably never alone, I just can't imagine this would work in the long term. So they need to be in a facility that has different levels of care. Um, like Oakcrest where they put a deposit down 10 years ago.

One place that would be perfect is Pickersgill but they have a 2-8 year waiting list. What kind of waiting list is that anyway?
